How the ladder works (aka "THE RULES"):  (1) Only Saturday games at USF affect the ladder.  (2) When you defeat someone above you on the ladder, you move up to his rung on the ladder and push him and everyone below him down a rung.  (3) If you happen to play the same person twice within your first three games, only the first of those two games will count.  (4) Your first game is against anyone; usually your opponent is determined by who has arrived and is ready to play. (5) Your second and third games are played as winner vs. winner, loser vs. loser.  (6) If a player plays a fourth or fifth game, that game does not count for the ladder, even if the opponent has less than four games.  (7) If you occupy the top rung and miss three Saturdays, you drop to #10.  (8) BONUS RUNG - If the person occupying the rung above you did not show up and you did not already jump up this week, you get to swap places with him, unless he was playing in a handball tournament that day. Bonus rungs are awarded after rules 2,3,4,5,6,7 have been posted on the ladder. It is possible for an absent player to fall below more than one player in attendance.  (9) If the #1 and the #2 players are both in attendance, they must play each other within their first three games so that it counts.  (10) The "15-15" rule:  If 15 or more players show up, the games are played to 15 points instead of the normal 21 points.
